What neighborhoods do you work in?
We work in all of Manhattan and most of Brooklyn. If you need a babysitter somewhere else close by, call us -- we will try to help.
How much does it cost?
Our costs are easy to understand and affordable for New York families.
You pay your sitter in cash or check at the end of the job
- $20 per hour for the first child
- $2 per hour for each additional child
- For jobs finishing after 10pm, taxi fare home
- Three hour minimum
When booking the sitter, we have two simple options
- A small $12 booking fee for each appointment - OR -
- A simple $35 monthly fee for unlimited bookings
We will invoice you via email, and accept all major credit and debit cards via PayPal.
What is your cancellation policy?
You can cancel your babysitter without any charges anytime up to 24 hours before they are scheduled to begin. If you cancel with less than 24 hours, you will still be responsible for the booking fee and 3-hour minimum charge for the babysitter.
What if I need to make last minute changes?
Please contact us directly as soon as you can. We will try to accommodate any changes, but our babysitters may not always be able to change or extend their hours at the last minute, as they often have other babysitting jobs (or nursing school, teacher training, or other educational commitments) that can't easily be moved.
How do I know High Line Sitters are qualified?
All our sitters have gone through a rigorous interview process including phone interviews, face-to-face interviews, reference checks and background checks. We work with TalentWise, one of the national leaders for background checks and employment screening. Only the highest quality babysitters become High Line Sitters.
Can I ask my sitter to help me with chores around the house or errands?
High Line Sitters' priority is to take wonderful care of your children. We understand though that you many need a little extra help here and there. High Line sitters can help with some simple errands like picking up milk, but they can not do your weekly grocery shopping or laundry. High Line Sitters can prepare quick meals and snacks for your children. They also will ensure your home is tidy at the end of each job - putting away toys, clearing dishes and bottles, but they do not do deep cleaning.
How can I ensure that my child's schedule is followed by the sitter?
At the beginning of each job your sitter will ask you detailed questions about your child's schedule and any activities that you have planned for your child that day. If you would like to provide this information at the time of booking, that would be extremely helpful, but not essential. Our sitters are very adaptable and flexible and can handle any situation that comes their way!
I'm looking for a regular sitter, a couple of mornings a week, can you help me find the same sitter?
Yes! It is our aim for families to build relationships with our sitters and we welcome your requests for specific sitters. If you have a consistent schedule each week and you need a sitter on the same day we can work with you to see which of our babysitters can help. Call or email us
I need someone to pick-up my child from school each day, can you help?
Absolutely! High Line Sitters do not just work in your home, they can meet your child from school, day care, parties, wherever you need.
